Japanese Holly is a slow-growing evergreen bonsai. Small, smooth leaves, insignifcant white flowers. Black fruit on female plants in autumn.
Position - Sun or shade. Protect from frost and freezing winds.
Watering - Daily throughout summer, less frequently in winter. Mist spray daily throughout summer unless in full sun.
Feeding - Every two weeks throughout the growing season.
Repotting - Every second year in spring. Use basic soil mix.
Pruning - Constant clipping when young. Trim new shoots are required to maintain shape.
Propagation - Cuttings.
Styles - Suitable for all styles except broom, and or extra-small to large sizes.
