  • Weeping Fig
  • Moreton Bay Fig
  • Port Jackson Fig
  • Banyan Fig
  • Little Ruby Fig
  • Green Island Fig
  • Willow Leaf Fig
  • Buddha Belly Fig
  • Natal Fig
  • White Fig

How to care for your fig

Below we provide some general instructions on how to care for your fig bonsai tree to keep it in the healthiest condition possible.

Position - Tolerates low light levels; however for best results, leave it in a position where it can receive as much natural light as possible. Protect from frost and draughts.

Watering - Generously throughout summer. Keep moist at all other times. Mist-spray to maintain humidity.

Feeding - Every two weeks throughout the growing season.

Repotting - Every second year in spring. Use basic soil mix.

Pruning - Trim new shoots throughout the growing season. Cuts exude white sap (latex), so seal large cuts.

Propagation - Cuttings and air layering. Some species can be planted with seed, such as tiger bark fig and green island fig.

Styles - Suitable for all styles except literati, and for medium and large sizes.
